Young Student’s Programme (YSP) – 9-18 years
Nine years of age is when for most children, a learning issue can start to become a real problem. Up to this point, the child has managed to develop strategies to cope with or try to get round the problem, but now starts to discover that some of those strategies do not always work. This is the time when the child starts to lose confidence in themselves and have doubts about their abilities.
If not addressed, then these ‘doubts’ can grow and will eventually manifest themselves as certain types of behaviour. Some of these could be:-
- Not wanting to go to school
- Feigning illness: stomach pains, feeling sick or complaining of headaches
- Angry outbursts, getting frustrated or crying for no apparent reason
- Bedwetting
- Becoming uncooperative or withdrawn
- Avoids doing or trying new things
- Inappropriate behaviours, getting into trouble
This is when a one-to-one, 30+ hour intervention programme is the very best solution to tackle the developing problems. Unlike adults, motivation can sometimes be a problem for a younger student, so we always undertake an Initial Consultation in order to ensure that they are ready and willing to move forward. It also allows us to tailor the programme to address their particular needs.
To this end, we offer a range of programmes that can be combined in order to address the various symptoms. These consist of:-
Dyslexia Programme – reading, writing and spelling made easy
Dyscalculia Programme – maths made easy
ADD/ADHD Programme – attention and focussing made easy
Dyspraxia Programme – co-ordination made easy
If at this stage you would just like to have a chat to find out more, then please feel free to contact me or to book an Initial Consultation.
