Testimonals

Just wanted to let you know about ONE of the changes i have noticed in Ella since embarking on our journey!!

Prior to your help, when Ella read, she would read a paragraph of text very flat and it was very clear that she didn’t have a clue what she was reading. There was no fluency or expression, it was like she was just saying the words because she could read them but not understand what they meant.

We have not practised reading, which i know is bad on my part, but i have noticed Ella has begun to read alound things she see’s; notes lying around, newspapers, leaflets etc. She has fluency, expression and i can just tell by the way she is reading, that she actually understands what she is reading! She has never read the newspaper in her life, but i often see her (when sat at the table eating lunch) looking through the paper and reading articles and then she wants to discuss them. Clearly, in the past, she was never confindent to read anything for the fear of not understanding, therefore, she didn’t. Now when she has homework, which is a paragraph of text explaining what she should do, she reads it and understands it.!!

This is proof that your programme works, even without practise!!! Its like the lightbulb has been switched on!! THANKYOU!

Working through this course has helped me a lot, I now feel I can control my focus to get tasks done, I have now started to read for pleasure.

I do a lot more writing, mostly in the form of instructions. I am a lot more confident in my work. More of my colleagues have a better understanding on how I see and understand things which makes life easier when I have a problem.

I have loads of processes to help me develop more as I go through life.

I’m back with my friends I used to hang out with but this time I’m staying out of the trouble :) Yes I’m still reading all my books, I have read the last Harry Potter and it’s amazing. Last school year I got the Best Improved award in all the year :D Yeahhh when ever you are in Henley give me a call and come round for a cup of tea. I can show you my school books and you can see how well I am doing.

Last week we had to hand in some coursework for English and I got an ( A )… I couldn’t have done it without you. It’s so weird getting good marks and actually liking going to my lessons. I’m in my last year of school now too. tonight :D

If you ever need to give my email to some people like my age who aren’t sure about going for the course, feel free x

Jacqui has worked closely with me, using a programme that has really helped me to understand the way my mind and learning process works as well as using mental “tools” to help control and learn much more effectively. I have great faith in the tools that Jacqui showed me and believed that if I had met with Jacqui at the start of the PDU process I would be have been signed off as independent and fulfilling the role of serving the public.

…The reason for this email is really just to say that the service she offers has really helped me, in my 33 years I was made aware at an early age that I was dyslexic and have received many different methods by different tutors and teachers to assist my learning, I can honestly say this programme that Jacqui offers has been the one that works.

I now know with the tools Jacqui has shown me I can really go and achieve a lot more than I thought before having the chance to work with her. I wish to thank you as I believe it was your initiative that has put Jacqui in place for dyslexic students.

I have to tell you that i am ecstatic about the session you had with Ella on Saturday. For one, i cant believe she spent ’3′ hours in a room concentrating and two that after that long that she actually came out smiling. On Saturday evening Ella explained to us, (off her own back, we put her under no pressure to tell us what exactly went on in the room) in great detail what you both did. (She isn’t usually able to explain anything in great detail). I must confess that if you explained your program to me beforehand i probably would have thought you were ga ga!! but seeing the difference in Ella after just one, three hour session, i am completely gobsmacked!! I can really see the potential of what you do and how it really does make a difference. Its a real pleasure to see Ella excited and enthusiastic about something. I thought her trigger for ‘F’, meaning to her ‘failure’, just about sums up how she has been feeling for such a long time!

I hope you feel good about this feedback, you must get great rewards from what you do. I find the whole thing fascinating!
