Presents for Men

Continuing with my theme of people who think it is ok to poke fun at those with Dyslexia. I have just received a totally unsolicited copy of a catalogue entitled ‘Presents for Men’.

Leafing through its pages of so called gifts, (most of them I wouldn’t personally give house room to), I came across the page entitled ‘stocking fillers’. Imagine my surprise when I encountered a book that promises a compendium of side-splitting one-liners and jokes.

What is the title of this erstwhile publication – A Dyslexic Walks into a Bra…

What sort of company is this that thinks it is ok to offer what its catalogue claims to be a selection of original, stylish and practical presents for men and boys of all ages, a book that pokes fun at people with dyslexia – a disability covered under the Equality Act.

Clearly no one in that organisation has the first idea what it is like to be dyslexic and the struggles that dyslexics face in their everyday life, otherwise they would not surely have contemplated offering for sale a book like that.

I have e-mailed them with my thoughts and have insisted that they take my name off their mailing list, (especially since I never asked for their catalogue in the first place), as I would certainly not consider buying anything from a company who obviously puts profit over making fun of those with disabilities.

If you feel the same, then I can only suggest that you might want to do the same.
